Introducing

The Smart Home Occupancy Sensor tallies when somebody enters or exits a room and allows you to create custom automation depending on how many people are in the room.

Choose from pre-programed rules, or create your own. The Smart Home Occupancy Sensor will allow your smart home to cater to you and others by taking different actions depending on how many people are in a room.

Unlike existing solutions, the Smart Home Occupancy Sensor keeps track when somebody enters or exits a room. No more waving your hands to trigger a motion sensor, don’t worry about triggering bright lights when you walk into a room when someone is sleeping either, the Smart Home Occupancy Sensor has that all factored in. This brings capabilities to home automation that never existed before.

What makes this special

Smart Home Occupancy Sensor Motion Based Occupancy
Count people as they enter or exit a room
    - Guesses a room is occupied if there is movement detected
Does not require movement to keep track of room occupancy
    - Will 'forget' people are in a room if they aren't moving enough (sleeping, reading, watching TV)
Set up in seconds and place where pets won't be detected
    - Technology is known for false positives and being triggered by pets
    Works in any room
    - Placement requires line of sight between people and sensor

Other occupancy solutions typically use motion sensors to determine if a room is occupied or not based on sensing movement. This approach is very limited as they don’t know if you are entering or exiting a room. Users are often left feeling underwhelmed with the automation possibilities and have to settle for solutions like: turn off the lights if no movement has been detected in this room for 15 minutes.

Allow your smart home to keep up with you

For the first time, without you even thinking about it, let alone picking up a control:

  • Turn lights on when you empty an empty room, or only a nightlight if somebody is already int he room with the lights off sleeping.

  • Have your music follow you around the house as you walk room to room.

  • Arm your home security system when everybody leaves the house. No more guessing when people will be leaving, or trying to tie automation to everyone’s cellphone location.

  • Receive an alert if there are more people in your home than you intended when you are traveling.

  • Have your smart thermostat heat and cool based on which rooms are occupied.

How it works

The Smart Home Occupancy Sensor mounts on door frames and creates invisible beams to sense when somebody enters or exits a room. Once the sensor detects somebody entering a room, it relays a message to its hub. The hub factors in how many people are in the room, time of day, if the room is dark and uses all this information to follow your customized preferences.

Use one hub to support all the sensors installed around your home. Connecting a new sensor takes seconds. From there configure your sensor using the Smart Home Occupancy App, choosing from recommended automations, or customize and create your own. While the possibilities are limitless, setup and install is a breeze and you quickly forget about the devices doing everything for you behind the scenes.

Enabling automation like never before
